CRG’s scientific program focused on the development of innovative methods and technologies to facilitate the acquisition, storage, management, analysis, visualization and dissemination of geospatial information to promote responsible use of spatial information for decision making processes in different domains applications. The program is structured around three interconnected themes:
Methods and technologies for the measurement of spatio-temporal phenomena
Focused on the accurate measurement of the Earth, the position and the extent of natural and artificial phenomena found there, both large and small scale and as dynamic than static.
Geospatial knowledge engineering
Focused on the development of theoretical concepts, technologies and geospatial applications for modeling, representation, processing, distribution, interoperability and quality of information and spatio-temporal knowledge.
Legal aspects and social uses of territorial data
Focused on land tenure, land registration, certification of geospatial data and services, professional liability of suppliers, distributors and users of geospatial data and services and the protection of users of geospatial data.
