Sujet : Developing a GIS-Based Coastal Risk Assessment Framework: Representation of Coastal Risk Zones, Their Dynamics and Interactions


Résumé :

The overall objective of this study is coastal risk modeling and representation due to assist decision-makers/stakeholders/authorities for preparing appropriate plans to manage and to protect coastal areas in the context of social/economical/environmental sustainable development. We aim to improve the GIS functionality in coastal risk modeling and assessment by integrating modern GIS capability in spatiotemporal modeling and visualization of dynamics phenomena with existing frameworks to achieve a multi-scale representation of coastal risk zones. Moreover, thanks to evolution of GIS technology in multi-dimensional approach, the impact of response option process on coastal regions due to the interactions between costal risk zones can be deliberated. This assists to reduce the misleading of possible alternatives in vulnerable coastal regions.
